Shell Toucher Microfiber Towel | Designed Specifically For The Camino De Santiago!

$24.95

Meet the Shell Toucher Towel! The perfect, absorbent, waffle microfiber friend for the road! Small enough for travel, substantial enough to wrap around yourself!

Aside from being the perfect size, our towel also possesses a few convenient features; The first and most obvious is our Shell logo identifying you as a pilgrim, and also setting your towel apart so you are less likely to lose it! Second, I have added not one but two hanging loops with button clasps. Obviously these can be used to hang your towel but not only that, they are specifically used to attach your towel to your packs shoulder straps so that it can air/sun dry as you hike out in the morning! Hung like this it looks like a Roman Centurion cape from a distance, sure to help folks identify and remember you as "The Cape"! (Or some similar nickname I guarantee)

Like all of our products this too was inspired by my experience on my first Camino. Northern Spain in the spring is not a dry place, especially when you are traveling there from Arizona, so seeing folks pinning socks and the likes to their packs is not uncommon...stuff needs to dry! In my case, almost daily I found myself tying my towel to my backpack, while this worked ok, it wasn’t the best solution. I knew if I ever had a go at designing a travel towel with the camino or backpacking in mind, it would utilize my lightweight dbl loop concept!

Some Other Uses

The Shell Toucher Towel also makes for a great Impromptu Yoga mat or as a cape as you meditate or rest. This is especially great when you are trying to keep clothes or sleeping bag weight to a minimum. Oh and back to the yoga theme; if you practice any form of hot yoga back home, this makes for a wonderful addition to your practice when used in combination with your mat! Then there's TOWEL DRYING CLOTHES! Another fantastic use for our microfiber towel! If you are unfamiliar with this technique, after washing and wringing out your clothes, put them one at a time in the towel and roll it up applying pressure the entire time. Then remove and hang to dry! This approach dramatically speeds up drying time!

“A towel, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”
