Whether you're crossing a rain-soaked stretch of Galicia, battling coastal mist on the Portuguese, or simply making sure tomorrow’s "camino clean" clothes stay bed bug free, my Shell Toucher Dry Bags have your back! Designed with the Camino De Santiago especially in mind and tested on multiple Caminos, these bags deliver the perfect balance of durability, waterproof protection, and zero-bulk simplicity. Can I get an amen?
One of my biggest gripes while shopping for dry bags before my first camino was I had to buy a collection of different sized bags when I only needed one or two. Then, when I did find listings for single bags, the price was crazy pants! That said, I'm making these available as a package deal or individually, so be sure to take note of the drop down selection option.
Available in two, intentionally bright colors, each size serves a specific purpose. Use one, or combine the pair for a packing system that stays dry, organized, and effortless from St. Jean to Santiago! (or whatever route you are on!)
Why DO I Always Recommend Dry Bags? Because Soggy Clothes Can Really Wreck a Day. Seriously. So let's look at these two sizes, shall we?
The 5L Shell Toucher Dry Bag
Perfect for shirts, base layers, socks, and essentials you absolutely must keep dry.
- Slim and compact
- Ideal for organizing your daily wardrobe or even a journal
- Easy to stash anywhere in your pack
The 10L Shell Toucher Dry Bag
Made for pants, fleeces, puffy jackets, ponchos and bulkier gear that needs guaranteed dryness. Or maybe you just want to keep all your clothes in just one bag? If so, grab a 10L and never look back!
- Spacious but lightweight
- Strong enough for constant stuffing
- A reliable home for your layering system
Use both sizes together for a color-coded, ultra-organized pack setup that eliminates guesswork.
After testing a few different materials I believe these bad boys are built from what I believe to be the Ideal Dry Bag Material: 210T Polyester + PU Coating
Nylon and Vinyl are great BUT, Your dry bag shouldn’t be heavy or complicated. These aren’t.
- 210T polyester: lightweight, tough, tear-resistant
- PU coating: trusted waterproofing that keeps moisture out
- Roll-top closure: the kayak-grade sealing system, roll 3–4 times and clip buckle
- Soft & flexible: compresses nearly flat when empty
- Reinforced stitching: Camino-proof strength for weeks of daily use
This is the kind of material trusted by paddlers, trekkers, and now, pilgrims who refuse to gamble with their dry clothes.
Waterproof Confidence (Seriously, They Hold Water, try it!)
I tested these myself on my last two Caminos and put them through the absolute ringer.
Rain. Sweat. Hostel floors. Dipped in streams. Bottom-of-the-pack chaos.
And yes, just to see how waterproof they really were, I filled them with water.
Let’s just say…I could easily use these as wine bladders!
(Though I don’t recommend that, no matter how tempted you are at the fountain!)
If they can survive that level of testing, they can survive your Camino.
5000mm Waterproof Rating: This is the hydrostatic head rating, which measures the fabric's water resistance. A column of water (in millimeters) is placed on the fabric to see how much pressure it can withstand before water penetrates. A 5000mm rating means the fabric can resist a 5-meter (16.4-foot) column of water! This is considered an excellent level of waterproofing suitable for heavy rain and most demanding outdoor conditions. (you're welcome!)
Two Sizes. Two Colors. One Smarter Pack! Bright colors so you instantly grab the right bag during a 6am pack-up or when everything in the albergue looks identical.
